Frequently Asked Questions
If you have sensitive skin or allergies, you can rest assured knowing that all my soaps are free from detergents, SLS, sulfates, alcohol, parabens, sorbates, silicones, synthetic preservatives, artificial fragrances, harsh chemicals, and artificial dyes—avoiding irritants that could aggravate sensitive skin.
I take pride in crafting all my soaps with gentle, all-natural ingredients—plant-based oils and butters, minerals, herbal infusions, and essential oils—designed to nourish, care for, and provide a luxurious cleansing experience for your skin. Please see the full list of ingredients to learn exactly what each soap is made of. You can find this information under each product.
For those with specific skin concerns or conditions, I recommend performing a patch test with any new skincare product to ensure compatibility and avoid potential reactions.
All of my products are naturally scented with essential oils, which are derived from roots, leaves, fruits, flowers, herbs, and other plant parts. These oils are carefully extracted through methods like steam distillation, cold pressing, or solvent extraction to preserve the plant’s natural essence, including its aromatic and therapeutic properties.
In some cases, I enhance the soaps by infusing natural botanicals directly into the oils, creating soft, subtle aromas in the bars.
For soaps labeled as "unscented," no essential oils are added. However, these soaps may still carry a mild, natural scent from ingredients like honey, oats, or botanicals, offering a pure and gentle option for those who prefer a more neutral product.
I choose not to use synthetic fragrance oils or perfumes artificially produced in laboratories.
Yes, handmade soap can lather just as much as commercial soap—if not better! The lather may feel a bit different, but it’s rich and creamy, and luxurious.
Many commercial soaps use synthetic ingredients, such as surfactants or detergents, to create more bubbly foam. These ingredients help the soap lather quickly and abundantly, but they may not always be as gentle on the skin compared to the natural oils and fats used in handmade soaps. While the foam may look appealing, it often comes with a trade-off, such as drying out the skin or causing irritation for sensitive users.
